BEHIND BYNIQUE
Dominique has always been passionate about candles and the way they can transform a space, creating warmth, atmosphere, and dimension.
She has also long loved handmade ceramics and the ritual of drinking coffee from uniquely shaped cups.
BYNIQUE was born from the idea of combining these passions — candles in reusable ceramic vessels designed to continue their story long after the flame has faded.
Originally from Munich, Germany, Dominique lived in New York City before moving to Mexico ten years ago, where she now proudly calls home.
Inspired by Mexico’s rich artisan culture, she began learning candle-making in her kitchen, pouring each one by hand with care and intention.
In 2025, she founded BYNIQUE to bring her vision to life: creating candles that are beautiful, refined, mindful, and sustainable.
Her work reflects a love for minimal design, sensory experiences, and objects that bring calm, intention, and understated elegance into everyday life.
